Customer success story for monitoring critical parts of the railroad infrastructure


Secure in Air has selected Xenics as a key supplier for their GeocamPro project. Together with BAM Rail, Secure in Air has developed an infrared inspection system for real-time monitoring of switch heaters. This critical part of the railroad infrastructure is essential for a safe and uninterrupted transportation service. 

We have successfully delivered our Gobi-640-GigE camera for this project.

Dual-Band Monitoring Keeps Trains Running in Winter Keeping critical parts of the railroad infrastructure free of snow, sleet, hail and ice – and even detecting unauthorized persons walking the rails – is essential for a safe and uninterrupted transportation service. Dual-band monitoring of critical rail elements with a PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) camera platform in the visible and thermal infrared ranges can remotely inspect installed switch heaters at a range of up to 2000 ft.
